About SaniTap.

Building scalable climate and water solutions that deliver measurable environmental impact and lasting benefits for vulnerable communities.

02
Who we are

Who is SaniTap.

SaniTap is a mission-driven impact venture that develops scalable solutions to climate, water, and public health challenges in vulnerable communities in Madagascar and beyond.

Founded by two social entrepreneurs with over 60 years of combined experience, the business combines practical implementation expertise with innovative financing models to deliver projects that protect the environment while improving livelihoods. Our work focuses on climate mitigation, climate adaptation, and building long-term resilience — particularly through water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure and carbon-financed climate projects.

By combining technology innovation, robust project development, and financially-sustainable business models, SaniTap delivers initiatives that improve access to safe drinking water, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and strengthen community resilience to climate change.

Model

What being an Impact Business means.

To us, being an impact business means we exclusively engage in business activities that deliver tangible social and/or environmental impact — yet also deliver healthy financial returns. The latter is important not to maximise shareholder revenue, but because only profitable ventures are scalable or replicable — and that's what will further multiply our impact. In this way, value is maximised across all stakeholders. Other descriptions are helpful — "Triple-Bottom-Line business" (Social, Environmental, Financial), "Triple-P business" (Profit, People, Planet) — they all convey similar ideas and the intended trajectory of an enterprise.

As an impact business, we apply commercial approaches — innovation, research and development, and scalable financing mechanisms — to address challenges traditionally left to governments or charities. Our objective is to deliver measurable social and environmental outcomes while creating sustainable models that can scale to reach millions of people. From this follows that we carefully measure and report on the social and environmental performance of our activities, to ensure transparency and accountability and to provide the data and insights to continually improve the way we operate.
