Carbon Credit Projects.
High-impact carbon credit projects financing safe water and clean cooking in Madagascar.
SaniTap develops high-integrity carbon credit projects in clean cooking and safe drinking water. Our work combines deep, on-the-ground implementation experience in Madagascar with international carbon market expertise, enabling us to design projects that are operationally robust, financially viable, and fully aligned with recognised methodologies.
All our projects are developed under internationally recognised standards, including the Gold Standard for Global Goals — ensuring rigorous additionality assessment, conservative emissions accounting, independent third-party verification, and transparent issuance through established registries. We prioritise strong monitoring systems and clear documentation to support auditability and internal ESG reporting requirements.
Beyond verified emissions reductions, our projects generate measurable sustainable development outcomes — improved access to safe drinking water, reduced indoor air pollution, lower fuel consumption, and strengthened community resilience. This integration of environmental integrity and tangible social co-benefits underpins the long-term credibility and value of our credits.
CORSIA-eligible carbon credits.
The Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is a global market-based mechanism designed to stabilise net CO₂ emissions from international aviation. Under CORSIA, airlines must offset eligible emissions growth above defined baselines using approved, high-quality carbon credits.
CORSIA eligibility requires that carbon credit projects meet additional screening requirements beyond standard certification — including strict criteria on impact additionality, avoiding double-counting, carbon registry transparency, and host country authorisation under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement where applicable.
SaniTap is actively progressing its Gold Standard-certified clean cooking and safe water projects toward CORSIA eligibility. We hold a Letter of Approbation from the Government of Madagascar, with work continuing toward full Article 6 host-country authorisation for international transfer. Our objective is to provide aviation-sector buyers and other compliance-aligned corporates with access to high-integrity credits that meet both voluntary market and CORSIA eligibility standards.
Two projects, one integrity standard.
Both active SaniTap carbon credit projects are developed under the Gold Standard for Global Goals with the higher-level gender-responsive certification, aligned with ICVCM Core Carbon Principles.
Clean Cookstoves Project
High-efficiency biomass cookstoves under Gold Standard TPDDTEC v4.0. Reduces firewood and charcoal consumption, indoor air pollution, and deforestation pressure. Robust monitoring, third-party verification, conservative accounting.
Clean cookstove projects →Safe Water Project
Rehabilitation of rural community water points under Gold Standard ERSDWS v1.0. Eliminates the need to boil contaminated water, preventing avoidable emissions while restoring safe drinking water access for vulnerable communities.
